New Burger Menu BETA
The Burger Menu, located on the right side of a virtual tour, serves as a navigation tool, designed to inform and guide visitors through the space. With the Burger Menu, users can move between rooms or locations, explore different objects (such as tags within the space), and even access multiple spaces that are merged into one tour for easy transition.
Additionally, the menu provides an option to include a public tour address and a 'Contact Form' at the bottom, enhancing accessibility and user interaction.
Treedis is excited to announce the enhanced Burger Menu feature (Beta), now offering greater flexibility and customization. With this update, users can create multiple menus within a single tour and choose between List and Grid views, or combine both for a more dynamic and visually engaging navigation experience.
List View Grid View
Menu Creation: List and Grid Options
To activate the Burger Menu, pull the related toggle to the right:
To create the Burger Menu, click the + Add button to add a new menu. Then choose how you want the menu to be displayed in the tour - either as a List or Grid view.
-
List view displays the menu items in a vertical list (same as the previous Burger Menu).
-
Grid view presents the menu items in a grid layout, allowing you to add images and/or icons to each item.
Important: You can create multiple menus within the Burger Menu section and combine both List and Grid views within a single tour.
Once the menu view type is selected, you can add a Menu Title (1) and choose either an icon or upload an image for the Menu Button (2).
- You can select an icon from the icon library integrated on the platform.
- Or upload your own image (JPG, PNG, WEBP) to use as the icon for menu button.
If no icon is selected or uploaded for the menu, the system will apply the default ones.
The settings also include the following options:

- Enable in public mode – If multiple menus are created, you can disable this toggle to hide specific menu from the public tour.
-
Enable search bar – Displays a search bar at the top of Burger Menu for easier navigation.
Once you're done with the settings, the menu will be created and displayed in the admin panel.
1. You can edit or delete the created menu by clicking on 3 dots.
2. You can also add additional menus by clicking +Add button to proceed with creating the second and further menu.
The Burger Menu content creation process is the same for both List and Grid views. The key difference is that Grid View allows you to upload media images or select an icon from the library, enabling a more visual, grid-style layout for menu items. For example, you can see how the New Tab action type appears with an uploaded image as its background.
Menu Content
To proceed with creating Burger Menu content, click on the created menu to start.
Menu Item
Then click '+ Add' button to proceed with creating the Menu Items:
Menu Item represents the buttons your Burger Menu consists of. You can start with creating a 'category' which will only display the title with no action. Once a category is created, you can add a sub-category (sub-menu item of lower level) by clicking on 3 dots:
Tag as Menu Item
If you have the tags created on your tour (either Matterport or Treedis tags), you can add them to the Burger Menu for easy navigation and more interaction with the tour. To import the tags, just click Add All Tags and it will add all available tags to the Burger Menu.
If you don't want to import all tags at once, you can add the tags to the Burger Menu one by one by using an option to add Menu Item > Tag action type:
MP Labels
You can integrate the Matterport labels into your Burger Menu (if labels are created for the respective Matterport space). MP labels serve as short descriptions linked to the rooms / locations within your tour. Just click Import MP Labels and they will automatically appear in the Burger Menu.
Clicking on any of these menu items will direct visitors to the floor plan view of the space.
Menu Button
The Menu Button allows you to add any website content or social media link. Once this button is clicked in the Burger Menu, its content will be opened in the new browser tab. To create the Menu Button, just add a title (label) and desired URL link.
You can set up the color for the following items: the button itself, its text and action on hover:
Burger Menu: Action Types
The Burger Menu items can have numerous action types:
- Matterport (Fly-Over) – redirects visitors to a Matterport tour with a fly-over transition effect. The deep link for location can be retrieved by pressing U inside the Matterport tour.
- Matterport (Instant) – redirects visitors to a Matterport tour with a direct-entry effect. The deep link for location can be retrieved by pressing U inside the Matterport tour.
- Tour Link – redirects visitors to a Treedis tour. The deep link for the location can be retrieved by pressing CTRL+Y inside the Treedis tour.
- Navigation Path – creates a navigation path by displaying virtual bubbles between a visitor and selected location (for location use the deep link Ctrl+Y from the same tour); click here to find more details on how to create the navigation path.
- New Tab – opens a URL or webpage in a new browser tab.
- Panorama – opens a panorama view (ensure the panorama is added and enabled for the tour beforehand).
- I-Frame – embeds and displays external website content directly within the tour. Use an iFrame tester to verify if the link is compatible.
- Popup - opens a URL or webpage content as a pop-up inside the tour (same as iframe with the only difference that pop-up doesn't offer an option to adjust the size of the pop-up window).
- Tag - places a tag (can be both the Treedis tag and Mattertag) within the menu; click here to find more details on navigations tags.
- Gallery - opens the gallery with images (PNG, JPG) by clicking on the menu item (you can select images from the tour library or upload them directly from your device, max 10 images at once).
- Category - creates the main menu item (category) which doesn't require adding the URL link or selecting any action type.
- Document and Floor Plan both allow to upload a PDF file (one file per menu item) to the Burger Menu and open it directly from there.
Tour Link Action Type
When using Treedis tour links or deep links to navigate between different spaces, you can select from the following four options to seamlessly switch the content associated with each tour.
Note: These options are not available with the Matterport links.
- Highlight upon user stepping - this option highlights the Burger Menu item corresponding to the visitor's current position in the tour. Specifically, it shows the previous menu item from where the visitor came from and their current position. To enable this functionality, activate the Highlight toggle for each menu item (tour link) you wish to be highlighted.
- Change Minimap - after moving to another space, the mini-map will change accordingly.
- Change Panorama - while transiting to another space, the panorama of the second tour will be opened upon entering (if the panorama was set "as start view").
- Change Highlight Reel - after moving to another space, the highlight reel will change accordingly.
Menu Settings
Click the Settings icon to select the way the Burger Menu should appear on the tour:
Open on launch - the menu will open automatically upon entering the tour.
- Open on hover - allow to open / close the menu upon hovering over its 'close' and 'open' buttons.
